Blog and get paid with Esteem

Over the years there have been lots of social media applications that has surfaced with the aim of connecting people from all over the world together. We are not new to this social media applications as we use some of them daily. Examples are Facebook, Twitter, reddit, medium and eskimi.

Remember this applications only connect users and do not pay them for texting one another, but since the emergence of the blockchain technology a lot have websites and applications have surfaced and they are aimed at paying users for contents they create. steemit.com as we all know is a good example of a website that pays you for creating and uploading contents on the Steem blockchain.

What is Esteem?

Esteem application is a social dapp app built on the Steem blockchain, you can perform so many things such as creating contents, voting, commenting and even sharing of images. You will get paid for performing any of this tasks.
This application was created by good karma and it is available for all devices. You can find the application on Ios, Android and windows.

Getting started on esteem

For those that are new to steemit you will have to open an account on steemit before you will be able to access this application. And if you already have an account with steemit all you need to do after downloading this application is to sign in using your active owner key.

Creating content

After launching your application and signing in, creating content is not a problem. Like the image shown above. First you add the title to your blog which can be seen in the picture above, and then write the content. While writing you can use the preview button to check if everything is in order before proceeding so as to avoid mistakes.

Before submitting your post finally we have what we call tags, this are tags associated with what your post is talking about. Make sure you use appropriate tags for your post so that the post would not have visibility problems.

Voting process

Voting is simply an action taken by users voluntarily, you like posts you see on your timeline and by so doing the person earns and you also earn. What you earn while voting is called curation reward, the image above shows the button that can be used to perform this action.

Security

I'm excited about the new security update, as users would not be given direct access by just clicking on the application. You have to input your special 4 digit pin before you can be granted access. You can also adjust your pin under settings in the application.

Claim rewards

A lot of things were put into consideration in the new esteem update, the claim reward button was not left out. You can now claim rewards you get from creating contents through the esteem application. All you need to do is click the button as shown above.

Issues with esteem

It's no doubt that the team have done a great job with the application and they are still working on it, the little issue I have with the application is that while creating contents sometimes the application crashes and then when I login back to continue I lose all content created already. I expect the contents to save automatically while it is been created so cases like this will not occur.

Conclusion

Why spend time on social media applications that will not pay you for texting or uploading contents? When you can get paid easily for sharing same content on esteem platform. I must say this is a great platform for you to begin your steemit journey. I have been using this platform for over 2 years now and I have enjoyed every moment. Esteem also votes users that create content using the application so it's a good one I must say.
