What is the meaning of life?
I have often wondered what the meaning of life was and is because many people seem not to care about it all and that really scares me. Last week I was out at a bar having some drinks with some friends when the most unexpected happened and till now I still wonder at the whole event.
Can someone not really care about their life?
Can someone really look at his friends life and see it like a tissue paper that can be squeezed and tossed aside? Ok, let me stop with the dramatics and tell what happened.
Two friends walk into the bar, got seated, ordered drinks and some fried chicken and not more than 30mins after they settled in, friends A poured acid on friend B and pulled out a gun daring anybody to come near and while friend B was crying and jumping around in anguish and pain, friend A started telling him the reason for his action. In his words "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN FUCK MY GIRLFRIEND AND GET AWAY WITH IT RIGHT? I HAVE JUST BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO LET GO OF YOUR GUARD AND NOW I CAUGHT YOU. YOU KNEW I WANTED TO MARRY HER AND YOU WENT AND HAD SEX WITH HER, YOU HAD NO FEAR, YOU VIOLATED MY WIFE..."... and the guy ranted and ranted and before the police could come in and get everything under control, friends B had lost the entire left side of his face and was barely breathing while friend A kept bragging.
I just don't get it and it still troubles me..., for a girl you could deform your fellow man???
The man who hurt his freind, had got lost. He somehow believed that his life owed him the woman as his wife, but this isnt true.
People have all kinds of crazy plans in their heads, Im going to do this, that, marry have 2 kids and it will occur by the time I am 30 (or whatever).
This isnt how life is, perhaps if he married that woman, he would be unhappy his whole life, would have been mean to is kids and ended up killing himself, he doesnt know if thats the future; his freind may have saved him from a life of misery.
Of course his freinds actions were not those of a freind, but he himself was selfish and didnt care about the state of his relationship with his freind, but what if he and the woman were truly in love, is it then wrong to persue that?
And what of the woman, assuming she willingly courted both men, she isnt blameless in this either; or perhaps she was scared of the manic who throws acid in peoples faces and waves guns around, perhaps she was desparate to leave but needed the support of the freind.
You cant plan your life with certainty, there is no meaning of life, we are all just guessing how to act from one minute to the next. Relax and understand this, that there is no grand plan and its all just chaos, and you will feel much more settled without nagging questions about right/wrong good/bad and meaning/meaninglessness.
You just made me see another dimension to the whole story, i mean your breaking down the what was and what could have been is worth a thought. I never thought I could understand the full meaning or meaning-less of life, I just find it hard to relate somethings sometimes and its scary. But like you said., "Relax and understand this, that there is no grand plan and its all just chaos, and you will feel much more settled without nagging questions about right/wrong good/bad and meaning/meaninglessness."
Interesting story..
First of all, it's hard to judge another persons actions when we don't have all the details..That being said, it's a messed up world out there & you gotta be tuff (inside & out) to deal with it..
You are the centre of your universe & you have to look out for #1 or something like this could happen to you..Keep your head held high & keep moving forward, cause this shit happens every day..
The Age Of Aquarius is upon us my friend, humanity is starting to wake up, & this is the most interesting time to be alive..
The shit is about to hit the planetary fan, & I for one ain't gonna miss the show..
