Madison Coe from Lovington, New Mexico was taking a bath one Sunday morning when she got electrocuted and died, as a result.
According to the family of the 14-year-old student of Terra Vista Middle School, Madison might have plugged her phone in or tried to use her phone which was already plugged in, while she sat in the bath, which triggered the electric shock.

Her grandmother, Donna O’Guinn, said that a burn mark was found on Madison’s hand which she used to hold the phone.
Madison’s grandmother described her as a smart and very good student in school. She added that Madison loved life and everybody loved her.

Furthermore, she added that she hopes that what happened to Madison will serve as a lesson to others and that this tragedy does not need to happen to anyone else.
Donna said that the family wants something good to come out of the tragedy and it is to increase the public’s awareness on the importance of not using mobile phones in the bathroom while it is plugged in and charging.
“We need to be aware. We need to teach our children that electricity and water do not mix,” she said.

thanks a lot,,
As a kid, I have seen the warnings. That scared me. I think I got shocked a little a few times. I was born in 1985. But a lot of kids now are not really aware of how electricity works.... until it is too late.... older people need to understand that the younger people live with blind eyes.... they did not grow up with less tech..... and that blinds the younger people from the dangers and tech now becomes more like the kind of magic that will not kill us until it does like the bath tub example.... thanks for sharing this.
