John McAfee is involved in scam "pump and dump" by a Department of Justice in the United States

Nothing has gone well this year to McAfee because even an assassination attempt took place in mid-July. According to the department, he is linked to a class action lawsuit for allegedly manipulating the price of the shares of MGT Capital Investments when it was its CEO.

The lawsuit was filed by Rosen Law Firm on behalf of current and former MGT shareholders. The investigation began in the month of September by the National Securities Market Commission.

Additionally, a group of 10 investors and executives is accused, who allegedly conspired over a period of several years to generate more than 27 million dollars in stock sales. The scheme is known by the name of "Pump and Dump" where the objective is to inflate the price of an action bought cheap, by falsifying information and then sell it at a high price.

At the moment McAfee was not named as an accuser, but it does appear in the class action lawsuit.
