    the chance that she can get a pair of blue socks is 1/4 same goes with a pair of pink socks.

    the possibilities are as follows:
    1blue 1pink-2 pair of socks
    1blue 1blue-1 pair of socks
    1pink 1pink-1 pair of socks
    total is 4
    chances are:
    1/2
    1/4
    1/4
    respectively
