commit, push and merge mathematics and maths into math /
Hello, math interested people of steemit
Preface: I might lack context, in which case I'll be filled in at the end of the day.
The issue
It's rather annoying that there are 3 tags on steemit which have the exact same meaning and are all user almost equally, divide streams of input and take away of the 5 tags system:
- /mathematics
- /maths
- /math
The solution
Simple. Make one the effective default (e.g., for simplicity, math) and whenever you see a mathematics post you like that is not posted under that tag, point that out to the poster.Like so:
"Next time, post your great content under the default channel, math."
This will eventually make the good content appear mostly under the default one and we're left with one stream.

Good proposal. This could be even more effective if Steemit suggested popular tags when posting.

I see you post from Steemit, and yes having 3 tag streams is annoying, add to that other languages too!
However, they have all been merged into the Mathematics forum on chainBB:

However, to avoid the same post in multiple forums, one of the maths tags must be the first - which means there will still be posts left out of the forum to swim in the Streemit stream.
The system is also not very robust in that people still make typo errors and end up in a weird tag of their own!
