I'm still waiting a story on history of basic math symbols +, -, x, : or / @mathworksheets. Can you point to some text on it? Upvoted & resteemed, of course.
The symbols of mathematics that we know now essentially came from lazy printers who didn't want to create new metal blocks so used existing symbols "creatively".
Yes @rycharde, but history of print starts in 15th Century, and math existed far before that. I want to know the genesis and development of use for those basic math symbols.
Thanks a lot my dear friend @photo-trail. We have to wait for another 1600 years (in math history) to reach these symbols!!
