Easiest Tessellation Anybody can Draw!
Tessellations - Where Mathematics Meets The Art
Tessellations are introduced to math students as early as grade 6 and many of them find it hard to draw. The idea is to draw the measured surroundings of your picture. Specially pay attention that Top and Bottom of the drawing should overlap and left and right should overlap each other. I taught me students to fold the paper and see if these rules satisfied in their drawing.
I used to teach them the cat face or a dog face in the beginning and most of kids did well and enjoyed the project too. Following is the same kind of tessellation anybody can draw. I did show the step by step progress towards my final draw as well.
I used the software and got rid of the grid, but it can stay if the project is done manually
Give the detail and you can do it alternatively to make it more impressive. Once you have image like above, just repeat it or cut it and draw the similar images to fit on your work piece.
Many thanks. My daughter loves playing with tessellations, especially using up our origami paper!
Thanks a lot for your support @math-trail :-)
I saw this sweet dog outside the grocery store this morning. ;)
Great information! Keep up the good work!!!
Ha hahaa. Thanks a lot Sam :))
Nice demo, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your kind remarks @shirish5
Very cool demo/explanation. Cool drawing and patterns as well. Very related to math and the sort.
I didn't teach this topic in Indian but teach here in Canada, but I have to learned it before that!
