RE: Negative Exponent Problems - Step by Step Solution
Nice... ! Good explaination. I have question for you, really I am dummy in math. I hope you do not mind with this question. This is my short question 5%=12 , 95%=?. Can you show the way to get answer this question. Nice ! :)
Sure My Friend
Let's write a simple percentage equation in pure math language.
15% of 60 = 9
There are 3 things to take with you from the above equation. They are:
Most often you are clearly given two of them and you need to find the third by doing multiplication or division.
If you know the first two you multiply to get the third. As in above equation if want want to find 15% of 60 you will multiply .15 to 60 to get 9.
Let's say you know 15% of a number is 9 then you know first and the third and you can find the second by dividing 9 by .15 which will be 60.
Similarly we can find what percentage of 60 is 9 by multiplying 9 by 100 and dividing by 60 to get 15.
Now let's get to your question.
It asks 5% of what is 12. Now you know we need the second and we will divide 12 by .05 and to get 240 as the answer.
Now in the second part you need to find 95% of 240
I think you can do it now.
And you are not dumb, the circumstance make us think that we are incapable of certain things and we can pull ourselves out of it by working hard.
And let me know your answer.

Yes thank you so much ! so 95% of 240 = 238 , 5 % of 240 =12 so 100%= 240. Nice ! :)
95% of 240 is not 238.
95% means for each 100 we are loosing 5 and for 240 how can we loose only 2 to get 238. May there is a typo. But try again. Try try again. I am waiting for your final answer.
ha...ha.. that is wrong typo. Actually I must use eye glasses when type something. Okay ! To find 5%=12 is similiar multipication ( 0.05 x (x) = 12 ); the way to find (x) is (12 : 0,05 = 240.) So I find (x) = 240. Now to find 95% from 240 just use multipication (95% x 240 = 228). Nice, thank you so much. So learning math is only matter practise...practise... yes it is like learning language. My English teacher when I was high school told me there is a correlation between math and learning English (language). Now I realize that... practise and practise until you can do it. Thank you very much. Nice ! :)
Score 100%!! You got teaching %age certificate too.
