RE: Masks are Rationed

in #masks4 years ago

How bad is the coronavirus over there? Is it something really serious or are they making a big deal out of nothing that serious? Because they are starting to close everything here and not that many people are sick yet..

Sort:

People who get the virus go through stages and when it gets to the pneumonia stage it is really painful and that's where people die. Healthy people will most likely get through it all, but for people who are already struggling to live day by day it could be the last straw. So its not really fair to those people that others go around as carriers.

Socially and psychologically it is easy to freak out, buy too many masks, buy too much toilet paper, etc. Our family lives in a very crowded city and the virus can spread quickly. We are recommended to keep a distance of 2 meters. That's because when a person sneezes it travels 2 m. But in America most people stay 2 meters away from each other anyway.

Once in Seoul the virus spread through a call center in Korea. I don't think Americans have to worry about call centers because call centers are usually overseas. Another time the virus spread in a cult. They gathered huddled together and sing loud and they are told by their leader not to wear masks or eye glasses. The result was that the virus spread through one city quickly. After that the worship services in most churches were held online.

The subway trains are still crowded during rush hour but people avoid big grocery stores and restaurants. Schools are closed because no matter how you tell kids to wash their hands they are still dirty. Viruses can spread quickly through school.

If you have a Thanos point of view of life then you could just say, "Let the virus run its course." The problem is some wonderful people will be brought past their limit sooner than would be necessary.

I am not an infectious disease expert, but the current action of the governments of the world is to contain the virus and defeat it. Data shows that cases in China have stopped increasing and data in Korea shows that the spread is beginning to slow down. I hope the data is accurate.

My final thoughts are an extrapolation. If the virus is eliminated within the next couple months everything may back to normal. In the mean time parents and families and all people will have a time out. They will have to think about why we go to school and why we go to work. They will have to think about the game society places with the world we live in and consider what is valuable in life. The earth will keep spinning regardless of the institutions our society has set up. We are entitled to nothing. The virus affects all people from all walks of life. Life has become so automatic many could use a time out. During the days of quarantine we depend on delivery services and do not step outside. More and more we find machines doing the work people used to do. And the work people need to do they don't need to go to a cubicle somewhere in a centralized city but they can in many cases work from home anywhere in the world. The virus has brought a lot of kids to stay at home. They no longer go to crowded places like amusement parks and water parks and restaurants. I see families together outside in big parks and city mountains. These places were never crowded now there are about four times the number of people there than there was last year. People avoid shopping places and busy places and they take time in nature. Sometimes when our set up life stops we can breath. It's ironic because the corona virus is a respiratory virus but for that month when Chinese factories stopped I could breathe air in Korea.

This is not medical or financial advice. It's just my thoughts on the subject from observing the effects of corona virus on a population for the past month.

Thanks for this update! Wishing you and your family the best outcome! Enjoy your time together!

Wow, thanks for that awesome reply! It definitely help to put my fiance at ease a little bit. Not saying that what happened there is exactly what will happen here but at least we know most healthy people will be fine. In all honesty it wouldn't even bother us at all if we weren't having a wedding in one month! LoL, basically my luck.. And since its a "destination wedding" most of our guest are flying in. Hopefully this will all be calmed down in a month, but who fricken knows, right?

We generally live a pretty secluded life out in the country, our closest neighbors are about 400 meters from us and we don't go in to town very often, only to go to run errands or go to the gym (which is now being haulted just in case). We are actually more worried about the people freaking out, buying out grocery stores, starting riots, and just being stupid.

I don't know what to believe anymore because I feel like the media is pushing a lot more of the fear factor than what they need to be doing. It makes me wonder what is truly going on, because that is how governments like to do shit.. Look here, don't look there. Kind of like 9/11, pearl harbor and dozens of other false flag attacks that force people to give up more of their rights and money.. But I could be wrong. To be honest it doesn't really matter how I feel, it matters how other people react. I am just glad I don't live in the city and I have a gun to hunt and or protect myself if shit really hits the fan!

Hopefully this all just blows over soon... Thats all I can hope for at this point.. Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy. thanks again for explaining things to me from your point of view, half way across the world ;) This is why social media is such a great tool.. Take care friend.
