Aleksa's Book Review: The Way of Men

The fundamental dissatisfaction that a staggering percentage of men either feel in their bones or mask up through various masturbatory and hedonistic practices is a public secret that none seem too willing to discuss in public. This book addresses that issue by explaining the fundamental nature that makes the male animal this way.

Jack explains our nature is that of securing, fighting, building and eventually merriment - the latter of which is mostly temporary. The modern world de-necessitates the existence of unbridled masculinity in favour of a sterilised productivity akin to a drone bee. A notable point is that feminism equated to more "sameness" and not more "equality" in society.

There are vague ethnic arguments made in the book, but they primarily have to do with geographic proximity of the men you create a gang with, and the fact is that the book explains in no uncertain terms what is necessary for a proper gang. My 2 circles of male friends lack most of these aspects and I shall endeavour to improve them.

The book is certainly relevant for modern males of all ages, and I should hope those younger than me will read this and understand better what it is that causes the fundamental restlessness in their soul. The unending ennui of contemporary masculinity will soon come to an end, I believe.
