Power Woman aka Jessica Jones studied the same school with Peter Parker during her high school days and have a crush on him.She was there also when Peter Parker was bitten by the irradiated spider.She gained her superpowers when an accident happened that killed her parents as well as she had several months on coma when their car collides with a military convoy carring radioactive chemicals.Those chemicals splash into Jessica Jones entire body.Those chemicals that have splashed into her body takes supernatural effect to her nerves which then she acquired her powers.Source here

Emotional story of Jessica Jones and the incidents leading to her power acquisition - the collision of her vehicle with the military convoy carrying radioactive chemicals which splashed all over her body and how she woke up from coma several months later.
However, you did not tell us if it was the chemicals that caused the superpower or if something happened psychically to her during the months of being in coma.
Wanna research and get back to us on this? Won't be a bad idea.
I forgot to the info that those chemicals react into her body and that she acquire her super powers. I have already edited. For months of coma, none happen to her physically.
