The Marvel exhibition in Queensland rocks.
The Gallery of Modern Art in Queensland (Australia) is hosting the world's first Marvel exhibition. And I'm here to tell you it rocks.
There is so much detail, so much thought into every piece. Not surprising when you consider there are over 70 years of comics to draw from since Stan Lee and pals set to work with Captain America in 1941 - hooley dooley. It may be based upon comics, but have no doubt - this is art too.
The exhibition showcases the materials created in bringing Marvel's Cinematic Universe to life. So that's all the Thor movies, the Captain America movies, Ironman and of course the Avengers (plus Antman and Spiderman). You get the picture. Anyway - there is a lot of material and it is actually a bit overwhelming (in a totally fun kind of way).
What are the highlights? Well, for me and my daughter the life size Groot was very cool, Thor's hammer Mjölnir, and everything to do with Black Widow were also awesome.
It really is worth checking out if you're in this part of the world - https://www.qagoma.qld.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/Marvel-creating-the-cinematic-universe.
