Captain Marvel- Movie Review! 🎬

"At last, a superhero movie starring a woman! Again.." This was my reaction when I watched Captain Marvel last weekend together with my Sis and my friend, Rodaline. Because in today's modern films, we often watched male characters who will play superheroes in movies and we're already used to the outcome of their roles in their selected genre.

My Review:

Writing reviews is one of my favorites, especially when I can poke a little fun at loopholes, character inconsistencies and appreciate good dialogues. For me, Captain Marvel can be someone's typical Marvel movie with everything that you would expect from the studio. It had its comedy and action, as well as it had its usual characters that you would expect from a Marvel film. This movie was not bad at all, it was actually enjoyable to watch but it has its flaws. Many flaws that can't be overlooked but can.

The movie was not so much about Captain Marvel a.k.a. Carol Danvers. It was more about the war happening between the Kree and the Skrulls while she was just there figuring things out. The movie felt unoriginal. It's like a mashup of the Green Lantern and The Hulk but without a big green angry guy. There were times that I wasn't even cheering on Captain Marvel but instead I was cheering on another hero that went on screen. It had its 80's theme but did not really work with it. You could hardly tell that it was the 80's other than a few small details. Even the music of the movie did not match the theme of the time period in which it was in. But Carol Danvers did some good qualities as she was a funny character as well as a strong character at times.

This movie has its redeeming qualities but its flaws. CGI was good, the characters felt pretty solid and its story wasn't all that bad even though it does again have its flaws. But this movie feels like a movie just to set up Avenger's Endgame and I would hope they would make a sequel that would fully show off and give full appreciation to Captain Marvel.

My Rating:

I'm giving this movie ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of ten stars. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it was fun, empowering, and nostalgic....and that's a winner on my list of favorite movies. It was just solid. A well-balanced movie.
