How Even Atheist Marriages Confirm the Genesis Account

in #marriage7 years ago

It is not just the writings of Genesis but the way the lives of even its skeptics reflect it.

The instinct of women (almost universally) to want to be 'given away' by their fathers, and to hope to be greeted by a stunned facial expression on the man prom night or wedding day, mimics Genesis 2:22-23.

It is rarely articulated to the man any more clearly than the almost rhetorical question "How do I look?" which is to be followed by the mandatory "You look great!"

It's an instinctive, genetic, sub-conscious desire to re-enact Genesis, even among those who never read it.

It's not a genuine query. It's not a focus group or a survey.

[In fact, her asking "How do I look?" is a stage prompt to remind you that you missed your line. She wasn't supposed to have to ask.]

Even something as minute as the instinct of a woman to only be interested in someone who is as tall or taller than herself.

Flip through pictures. Physically, the photos viewed as the 'warmest' are those where she is under his arm, ironically, almost at his rib cage.

Dare I mention this?

To allege that this is all circumstantial is to allege that, at some time in human history, after many marriages and families, someone wrote a story, retroactively, that just coincidentally became the way to do things for the rest of time.

Even that, done ahead of time, would be a bigger invention than hip-hop, jazz, rock and classical put together.

That would make it a man-made fashion that never went out of style, a remarkable achievement in its own right if nothing else.

And that still doesn't identify whatever the previous tendencies or conventions were allegedly supposed to have been. It would just be nay-saying, just to be 'anti' for 'anti's' sake.

In fact, if it's all just a con job, put your money where your mouth is. "Dab on nem haters" and flip the script.

  • Date people shorter than you.
  • Pay no mind to what your date thinks of your dress on prom night.
  • Completely ignore your fianceés' reactions to the sight of you from up the aisle on your wedding day. Just be business-like.
  • Take all of your intimate photos with you standing on a box behind him, so that you look taller.

Didn't think so.

You're Eve's daughters. The resemblance is uncanny.

Most atheists aren't atheists, they are anti-christian. And thus, they throw out the bible.
But, the bible is a great book with many important stories dealing with how to live a good life.

In the wedding vows, the man and the women do not agree to the same list of things. It is from the difference between a man and women.

In sickness and in health, is easy for a man to do. It is difficult for a woman as it is for her to date a shorter man. And thus, it is asked of the women to vow.

If you don't believe he exists, you're an atheist. If you hate him, you're a misotheist.
A lot of people who consider themselves the former act a lot like the latter.

Many atheists, antitheists and agnostics underestimate the affect that Christianity has had on society.
We changed the way we count time to begin at the year of Jesus' birth.
We take part in practices that the Bible outlined thousands of years ago.
We value unused power; a sheathed sword, as the "meek" in "The meek shall inherit" translates to.
Marriage is a religious ceremony, hence why couples go to a church to get married.
