Marriage reflection
IN PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE, do not allow the unbalanced opinions about gender equality to confuse you about the basic expectations in marriage. There is no such thing as gender equality in marriage. Each gender is not complete on its own. So, there is no valid reason to argue about equality in marriage at the first place. When there is marriage discussion, the key words should be centered on various ways either gender should complement the other to make the union more stress free and successful.
Gender equality is an invention in political scene to pursue a specific goal...the emancipation of women in politics. Do not allow people who have no idea of the origin of propagation of gender equality to bring it to marital institution and confuse you or make you deviate from the original plans of God, the creator of both genders, concerning marriage and the multiplication of life.
Leaving religion aside and looking at the psychological and physiological framework of a man and a woman respectively, you will see the natural differences that makes each gender specialized for specific purposes. And one amazing thing about the ingenuity of God in creating a man and a woman is that He crafted each gender not to be complete on its own without the other. So, before thinking of marriage, you must first understand that the original purpose of marriage is to find your other half, a life partner and someone that will make your life complete.
There is no specific manual for successful marriages but the key guide is to always complement your partner. Both married couples should always strive to balance each other in every roles and responsibilities in their family and marriage just like our creator created man and woman to balance each other in our different body structures.
This is the essence of marriage. This is the purpose for which God sanctified marriage institution...that two individuals will leave their father and mother and come together and become ONE. Individuals seeking for marriage should understand this fact, to always encourage, support and and complement each other in every spheres of their marital lives.
