Marriage Laws in the Islamic State (Ottoman)

1. The period of optional marriage begins at the age of 18 and ends at the age of 25 and whoever does not marry at the age of 25 is forced to marry.

2. If a person refrains from marrying after this age on the grounds that he is a sick person, if his illness can be cured, he will be forced to be discharged, although the incurable disease prevents him from marrying.

3. If a person refrains from marrying after 25 years without a legitimate excuse, one quarter of his income shall be taken from him, whether he is a quarter of his property or the profit of his business or the wages of his industry.

4. Any person who has not married after the age of 25 shall not accept a job at all in the interests of the Government, shall not be elected in any of the bodies, shall not be entrusted with a position or matter, and if an employee is exempted.

5 - Anyone who exceeds 50 and is married to one woman and is financially and physically able to marry another is assigned to be a partner in filling a need of social needs if he apologizes for reasonable reasons to help the children of the poor and orphans from one to three as much as possible.
