HAVE I READ THIS RIGHT? Nobody Can Sign up to steemit.com????

I have read several posts that have indicated steemit.com isn't currently allowing anymore sign ups; anyone attempting to join is greeted with this..............

I'm sure the majority of us aren't really surprised, when you take into consideration the popularity of the platform; not to mention the potential income generation associated with random posts that has been the topic of many personal recruitment drives!!

Where does this leave us?

Let me surmise here, I don't think that's it for the membership; let's assume all the present members are either "innovators" or "early adopters"? This indicates we are the core of this groundbreaking platform, it's very first VIP's. We continue to blog, post, curate and vote; exactly the foundation to generate successful value into the platform with constructive and determined attention to nurturing our new found "soapbox".

By having an invite only strategy, steem are not only protecting their brand but also creating a desire to join its ranks; the potential mainstream subscriber will be desperate to get an invite and join our exclusive club. They are adding value to the stability of the Steem Dollar also, but ultimately they have established a genius marketing strategy. Steem has effectively created a "need" for something that was previously freely available, making people want it MORE!!

Only steem has the answers, it may have different reasons behind their decision to suspend the membership recruitment; it could be one of security after the recent "hacking" dilemma. Realistically steem have been very clever in the way they have engineered the situation, they are establishing a email database for their potential new users allowing them to control the inflow of members.

Maybe steem are preparing the infrastructure so the platform is ready to handle substantial volumes of users?

Regardless, we just have to be grateful for what we have here and also the people who have made it possible; I'm sorry if this sounds like a broken record but we have such a reveloutionary platform it's no wonder everyone wants to join!!!!!
