Food is an essential, and arguably one of the most important necessity of life. We need food to survive daily and most importantly during this lockdown period.

I was running out of soup, so I went to a nearby market to get the ingredients I need for my soup. Yaaay.

This market does not have a name, to the best of my knowledge. It is located in Damagaza area of Lokogoma, Abuja. Could we be right if we say it's "Damagaza Market". Haha

I prefer shopping at this market for my soup ingredients because they sell locally made items that could be used for Efo riro (vegetable soup), Ogbono, Egusi, Oha soup etc. They are also cheap - the most important.

Here are varieties of items such as tomatoes, Ponmo, red pepper, stock fish, dry fish.

She also has several leaves in stock like water leaf, Ugu leaf, bitter leaf etc

There's also a fruit section. Where there are water melons, cucumber, pineapple and lots more.

This is the young man who helped me to grind my pepper. It cost about 100 naira ($0.26) to grind the pepper

Above all, all precautionary measures against the spread of the Coronavirus was strictly adhered to as you can see me wearing my face mask. Even though, residents of the market environment didn't comply with the directives to the fullest.

Thanks for reading.

Stay safe

I agree with you! I need to wear my mask and keep a good social distance away. I feel like too many are just opening up the door to spreading the virus. Well, I will say that I don't what the right answer is, but, God help us all, and most of all, I hope everyone remains safe.

Soup sounds like a great idea today! The vegetables are abundant here and those tomatoes look yummy! I made soup yesterday, one of the items I like having on hand as it is a great meal and it makes for a nice lunch too. ( I have eaten it for breakfast too! I love soup)

The fish is also abundant here. That is a definite bonus for protein! The market is definitely full of good things that you need and if the price is good, that is a bigger bonus!
