Mahane Yehuda, Jerusalem half open air, half covered market last night
I took this series, well, colorful series of images of the Mahane Yehuda market life yesterday at evening when i visited Jerusalem for a walk and beer, or for a beer and walk. Actually it was beer-walk-beer visit. I walked a few long and nice kilometers and enjoyed this full of life city again.
I wanted to try my new street shooter Ricoh GRii in different light conditions and very not easy situations when people are moving and the light is extremely different from frame to frame and from moment to moment. I loved this point and shoot devil - i still have to get used to a few manual settings i love to have control on them during my street photography and to stay fast as much as possible and but also invisible and not interfere the moments i found interesting or the moments which help me to express the mood of the market and the intensive life of the last.
Lst time this place got some unnatural and unnecessary popularity and many photography enthusiasts and students come here every day with all possible big, huge and super huge cameras - to frighten people and create a bad name to a street(life) photography lovers. They got some success and i saw and herd many time that these sellers as usual very friendly, started screaming and yelling on some extreme impudent "photographer" and i fully support their feeling. Don't interfere or GO AWAY ! To my luck i was the only one shooting at this evening and i hope that ppl just going to lost their interest to this full of life plece.

I loved these shots and especially getting a peeping view as the people go about their personal business of shopping. It is so very different from the markets that I am used to, and it is so interesting to see the cultural side of here as they go about their day (and night)
It is too bad that people are ruining the candid moments of street photography by pushing those huge lenses in people's faces. (bigger is better, right???!!!) It takes away the elements of what you are really looking for.
Thank you for these shots. I love to watch the way people shop. It tells so much about them, the selective way they choose (or not) their touch, and how they communicate with the seller. I love your views. Thank you again!
