Saree, the customary Indian women dress that adorns their beauty. Be it any function, be it any occassion, be it home Sarees is the best dress that an Indian women can wear. The craze and demands of saree is such that if you put "Saree" on Google search bar, you will directly get so many buying option from different stores and online sites, rather than getting any defination of Saree. Anyhow Wikipedia says

A sari, saree or shari is a women's garment from the Indian subcontinent that consists of a drape varying from five to nine yards (4.5 metres to 8 metres) in length and two to four feet (60 cm to 1.20 m) in breadth that is typically wrapped around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder, baring the midriff.

Saree is one of the ethnic Indian dress and only unstitched garmemt from the past. The use and origin of sarees has been very old and have so many mentions in "Mahabharata" and other epic. The famous Cheerharan episode in Mahabharata and then Rani Laxmibai fighting with britisher in 1857 revolt. have the glimpse of its age old usage.

Not only in India, Saree are also a common dress among the other neighbouring countries like Srilanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh. The most important significance of Saree is its management. It is a kind of art and complete respect to women that simply able to wear them and able to do all chores of activity. The length of the saree are such that it covers the entire body only not to conceal any portion.

The length of the saree has also given opportunity to many artisans and weaver to showcase their talent. Now a days, we will find variety of fancy and designer saree in stores. Each of them have heavy embroidery or weaver work upon them. Whereas in earlier days, that use to be a simple drapes of cloth. Available in all type of cloth material, Cotton, Silk, Chiffon, Georgette and others The best in demand is Cotton easy to wear during summer.

It is used for gifting, it is used for wearing, whereas, I remember, my Mom Knitting up quilt with their old sarees. The length of saree help to stich a perfect quilt by placing them one over the another.

Recently, I visited a saree store alongwith my sister to buy few saree I say 95 in total. There was a function at her home and she wanted to gift all the women with sarees and she bought truck load of it. It was a family store however saree is ther speciality. The stores have many manquins but I like these little one at the entrance

What a wonderful #MarketFriday post! I was familiar with Sarees, but, in all honesty, I really knew nothing about them after reading your well-put-together piece. It was interesting and knowledgeable and you made it fun, showing off the different kinds and fabrics.

What a wonderful cultural experience and how envious I am of having clother with no stitches and gracefully put on the body like that. Thank you for introducing some of us to Sarees and proudly showing off your culture. I applaud you and your wonderful post! As always, have a great day!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Thanks Denise. Wish you could get draped in one of them and get some photo shoot....😊👍
