Market Friday
I apologize for not having any shots of the inside. They were closed.
This is probably the oldest building in Huntington Beach. It looks like it's about to fall down! I've been by here many times over the years. it's surrounded by condos and big buildings now. I was really uncomfortable even taking these photos. I almost wish they would just demolish it - replace it with condos - and get it over with. Sorry... i just can't take it anymore. The entire area i grew up in is just one big endless strip mall of crappy condos, mcmansions and endless development that benefits no one except realtors and banks i suppose.
I held my phone up over the fence and this is what i got

Is it decrepit, or "shabby chic"? Hard to say. There is a similar lone antique shop in a run-down building I used to visit occasionally on 4th street in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It's about a block north of Capone's, if you ever happen to visit. I know that block has been slated for low-income housing and combined-use commercial construction for well over a decade, but as far as I know, nothing has happened yet and it is still there.
Shabby chic sounds better doesn't it :) It's a pretty unusual place. They have torn down everything old around here... it's pretty depressing how they changed the main street.

Oh, but, the tree from the outside is so cool! He is right though. Definitely shabby chic! They really could fix that shop up and make it trendy, and everyone would be storming the place to get in.
People like those kinds of shops with one of a kind merchandise. I want to thank you for participating in the challenge. You know I give plenty of leeway!

Hi! It might be popular with lots of people... I'm not sure. It's a block from the beach and a block from Main Street Huntington Beach and the pier. I don't get over there very often. There's always tons of people around. They have torn down almost every old building in the area and put in so many new things that it really stands out. I think it may even be a historical building and they might not be able to tear it down legally. There are little metal rings in the sidewalk out front for tying up your horse! At least i think that's what they are for :) I haven't seen any horses though.
