I bring to your notice another edition of #marketfriday which is initiated by @dswigle. It is the most interesting moment that drives us all to receive the happiness of the weekend. And so I invite everyone to participate in today's entries. You can pass through the various markets that steemians are sharing across the world. This is my entry for the challenge.

This is a roadside market l did today. It is a mini market here in a small town called Ejisu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Passing by, I saw these earthing bowls which we locally call "Asanka or Ayowa". They are used for grinding vegetables and other foodstuffs. It is not until recently that blender in our modern days has taken over the patronage of Asanka here in Ghana. People here in Ghana still prefer to make use of Ayowa during food preparation. Even though it consumes time energy compared to blender.

It is so cheap to purchase ayowa here in Ghana. An amount of GHC5($1) can bu you a very nice and stronger Asanka. And the good news is that they stay longer before breaking if handled with care. Even though it is made locally with dust but still looks healthy and strong to serve a family. This is what l share with steemians today. Have a beautiful weekend guys.

I can understand cooking food in the traditional ways that you were taught by your mother and your grandmother. Carrying on tradition in your daily tasks just feels right. Thanks for sharing these.

thank you too

How interesting, Sam! @mcsamm

I am taken back by the fact that their life is made simpler, so there is time to do other tasks and they still prefer to do it the old fashioned way. Although, I can remember me when Microwaves were introduced to households and I didn't want to use it. I had no idea whether in time it would be a cancer-causing item or not. I had no idea.

So, I am sure this is different, but, sometimes the world is moving to fast toward change when life is good to begin with. Yes?

Thank you for the is wonderful #MarektFriday post and showing off these bowls to us. May the traditional ways of Ghana live forever. Appreciate you dropping the link here!
