Merry Christmas to everyone who is chanced to see this post today. It is a post to share with you how the market goes today here in Ghana since it is Christmas. This local market if busier than usual having everywhere overcrowded. Sometimes it becomes so difficult for vehicular movements since every road is so much filled with a lot of people buying for the season. Sellers bring their selling items so close to the people so as to get the attention of whoever is passing by.

This moment is when shops take out some of their items out on the street showing to the public a huge reduction of those items. Unlike big shops and supermarkets where discounts are boldly written and announced on the items, these local sellers put items out giving an indication to everyone that there is a mass reduction in all their products. This is the beauty that the local market share here in Ghana. Everyone looks busy. Sellers have no time for conversation during this festive moment. Buyers too look busier to get the best items at a very cheap rate.

Among the items which are sold more is food which includes rice, veggies, tin items, mackerel, cloths, and others. Today, l just made a quick pass over the street of the Kejetia market and everywhere on the street is filled with items and people. Christmas is indeed celebrated in a special way. Families want to prepare the best for everyone. Market sellers want to make some good money since people are buying a lot too. In a moment like this, sellers do not mind to always be at the market to make money at the expense of spending good time with their families as well. A day with their family is okay even as the yuletide passes.
