RE: Market Friday. Farmers Organic Market.
So nice to venture through this market with you Trudee, our farmers market has slowly disbanded over the years. Thinking back I don't know of any in our area now.
Fresh produce always tastes and lasts a lot longer to what you get in supermarkets today, thanks for this wonderful treat in photography at your market.
Hello Joan. Many thanks for dropping by. I'm sad to hear that the Farmers markets in your area have been disbanded over the years. Sad for the farmers as well as the customers.
I was fortunate in having a father in law who grew a wide range of vegetables and fruit in my early years of marriage. I was able to provide the best of produce for our family and always had a freezer full all year around, plus many jars of bottled fruit and relishes etc.
My Dad lived on a farm growing up, our garden growing up had an abundance of fruits and vegetables. Once a year helping prepare for bottling or making jam, good memories.
Where we live the monkeys climb in and enjoy most the fruits of your labour. Yes, it is sad that due to crime and not being well supported small farmer market in our village has been abandoned Trudee.
Sounds like you were blessed with healthy, organic food when you grew up too Joan. Such a blessing. It's a shame that the younger generation will have no idea how to bottle or preserve produce. I found it very rewarding.
