MarketFriday - initiated by @dswigle - The IconSiam Mall - Part #1
Hi everyone here we are back for another #marketfriday initiated by the lovely @dswigle and it's Friday again and this Friday i will be presenting to you the first part of this amazing new shopping mall that has just recently opened in the heart of Bangkok.
The ICONSIAM Shopping Mall consists of a massive 7-storey Takashimaya and today i am going to take you for a tour on just the first floor as it would be impossible to fit the whole seven floors in this one post. The Iconsiam mall has a free boat service that takes you across the Chaophraya river to the Iconsiam mall.
Once you are over the other side of the river and step of the boat as you are entering this shopping mall it becomes confusing whether you are booking into a high class 7 star hotel it just throws you back in what you are seeing just absolutely stunning and that's just the entrance to the Iconsiam Mall.
Already i feeling the great vibes from this mall and was so excited to start my tour around this mall. My son and i walked on further and we were meant by a abundance of coffee and cake shops just what we needed.
This IconSiam Massive Waterfront Megamall now known as the "Mother of All Malls" opened up in November last year total cost to build this mall was 2.28 Billion US and has space of 525,000 square meters, it’s like putting 90 football field together.
This was a massive upgrade from the usual night markets and shopping malls i am use to or seen it was just unimaginable to try and estimate the hours gone into designing and building this overwhelming shopping mall.
At times you didn't know if you were in a palace , temple or someone home it is design like a small city of Bangkok showing you all the Thai cultures of buildings , homes and foods.
The whole of the first floor is just restaurants , coffee shops , all the best of the Thai foods you can imagine and all the best of the Japanese foods you can think of including all types of sushi's you can eat.
We all know that Thailand is well known and famous for their floating markets featuring boats on the Chaophraya river with friendly vendors selling a ton of fresh food and goods well they have duplicated this on the first floor of the IconSiam Mall absolutely fantastic to see.
You can sit on these little stools at your own leisure and ordered up what ever you like all yummy , cheap and traditional Thai cooking whether it be noodles , curries or meat and veggies dishes it's all here. Just a wonderful set up just like been by the river.
And there was no shortage of Thai fruits and fruits juices of all kinds.
Dry fruits and Nuts.
Hand made jewelry was everywhere to be seen.
Thai silk shops were amazing to see showing you how they made silk clothing on these old ancient wooden weaving machines.
There’s really only one mall you need to visit now the ICONSIAM.
Stay tuned will bring you Part #2 next week.

That is an awesome place, you should have taken me with you :D Sp many cool products, not to mention the floating market! Excellent! Well done my friend! I almost forgot that today is MarketFriday :))
If i took you there i think i would never be able to get you out of there this is the most incredible mall i have ever seen wait till you see part #2 next week.
Well i hope you got your @marketfriday in i will go and check soon :)
Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing, these malls and markets are dangerous places :) My post is out and looking forward to the next parts :)
They certainly are especially when their are so many goodies around you to persuade you..lol :)
I think I would be obese after a while 😀
That would be a problem so much great food there and so hard to resist but actually a lot of it is pretty healthy food you don't see many fat Thai's around :)
That is good to know :)
Wow! I think you just like me saying that!! Bottega Veneta is so very modern and classy looking, especially with all that glass. I am not quite sure what Bangkok illumination stands for or if it is a company but there has got to be something major about it for the big sign. Oh yes!
Did you just parade Me by Gucci? Seven stories I'm not sure most Hearts can take that. Do you mean that you must go across the river to get in Shopping Center? How cool is that? Except when it gets really busy! Okay but really really is quite the place. And yes the concierge in the front kind of confused me as to whether it was a hotel entry or. And look at that everything paved in gold. All of my favorite people Bvlgari, Dulce and Gabbana, and Tiffany and Company. I think I even see Patek Philippe.
Don't you love the way those ferns are growing down from the ceiling and the little carts of Confections to keep the hunger pangs away. I'm telling you it's paved in gold. The Columns are huge and the lanterns hanging just beautiful and I bet night they keep off a really beautiful glow.
I hope we're going to stop in the cafe because I have my eye on a piece of cheesecake and coffee sounds pretty good right about now. It is truly the mother of all malls and I cannot believe that it was over 2 billion US dollars 90 football fields? I am amazed how it's sort of separated out into different sections and decorated differently at each place. Some of the columns are so highly decorated it's hard to look anywhere else. They have such beautiful shops everywhere you look and I cannot even begin to imagine that Vamp only hit the first floor. I'm not sure who those scary little figures are but there's two of them and by God, their teeth scared little kids from miles around. I am sure. It does look like a palace and it is quite amazing and that big sundial and the elephant and the umbrellas on the ceiling. Oh my gosh especially the elephant! Miles of Japanese food and there's a horse and buggy even right in the middle of the the mall floor. I cannot find them that they did a duplication of the floating markets. How cool is that and what an experience that would be an even having the little stools all over for your leisure. It is magnificent and I am not sure I have ever seen a mall of this magnitude. Fruits and vegetables like a market dried nuts and handmade jewelry. I'm in all that they have these old weaving machines and their being used. And yes I can hardly wait to come back for part 2 because this was so amazing I think my eyes are going to fall out of my head trying to take it all in.
Thank you so much Angelo. Thank you thank you thank you I cannot even begin to tell you how amazed I am and I'm grateful I am for you to bring me such wonderful material like this. I know you have been pressed for time so I am even more thankful for that.
Upped and steemed

I also might catch a Imax movie while i am there , they say it's got the state of art cinema screens and digital sound systems in the mall we be looking forward to that.
