What feeds cryptocurrency frenzy?

I'm wondering what feeds the current massive money move into cryptos.

Recently I've started playing with so called ALT coins on one of the exchanges and spotted that the volume on quite exotic coins jumped up dramatically. In last 3 days coins which were traded at the level of few BTCs jumped to tens of coins, those which traded at tens jumped to hundreds.

I can understand the shift in the big money to move from USD to BTC, but I still didn't figure out what drives ALT coins moves.

Please let me know what are your thoughts.
