Update on the Steem Markdown online course! (Almost 70 users)

in #markdown7 years ago (edited)

I wanted to pass along a quick update on how Steem Markdown has been progressing over the last few months.

Why did I create the Steem Markdown course?

When I was first introduced to Markdown, I saw the immediate benefit. Not only did I want to write quality posts, but I also wanted them to look great too. Markdown is a simple-to-use format and styling language that converts simple commands into HTML.

But there was a problem! Although I could find some good resources, I did not feel that the information organized in such a way so that new users could easily use it. And some of the best resources that were available did not tailor to the needs of Steemit users. So I decided to create an online course that was made to specificall address the needs of myself and fellow Steemians.

Steem Mardown is still a work in progress.

Over the next few weeks, I plan to audit all of the content again to fix grammatical errors and typos. I am not the best editor in the world, but I do desire to give you all something that is easy to understand and read.

I am also wanting to evaluate how the exsisting lessons and teaching elements of the course meet peoples' needs. I am open to adding new lessons as needed. One person recently asked me to write up a lesson about using emojis in Steemit.

Can you think of any of topics that need to be discussed

If you do, please make sure to reach out to me and let me know. The beauty of the platform that I am using is that I can add to and modify existing content.

I would appreciate your support.

You can support this work in a variety of ways.

  • If you find a mistake of any kind, please let me know. I want to create a high-value product that is useful for many people. Constructive criticism is welcome.
  • Tell other people about the course. @themikepitt did a video review of the course. Thanks man! Feel free to tell others about your experience in a Steemit post. That way you can help others learn more about formatting their Steemit posts. Be sure to use the hashtag #markdown and #steemmarkdown.
  • I always appreciate a friendly comment, an upvote, or resteem. Do not think that your contribution is small. The amazing thing about Steemit is that our collective contributions make a big difference. Do what you can!
  • The course is FREE, but if you want to send a donation (STEEM, SBD, or SP) I would be honored. With additional support, I can focus time and energy on developing additional courses.

Almost 70 users.

It has been an honor to teach so many people how to use Markdown to format their Steemit posts. But the need is still great. Help me help hundreds or even thousands of people learn this amazing tool so that their content creation experience on Steemit can be even better.
