AK47 Outdoor Marijuana Grow Journal - Update 2
Continuing my Steemit exclusive AK47 grow journal, I've got an wonderful update of some beautiful plants starting to sprout some beautiful buds. You can see past pictures of my favourite two AK47s Sasha and Natalia here: https://steemit.com/marijuana/@weeds/the-amazing-resilience-of-the-marijuana-plant-exclusive-steemit-outdoor-grow-pics These photos are about a week after the last update. So let's get to it!
Sasha the AK47
Sasha is doing great, she must be getting close to 8 ft tall now. I'll make sure to bring a tape measure next time.
Natalia the AK47
While just a little bit shorter than Sasha Natalia makes up for it by being just a little bit bushier. She too is doing great and enjoying those last days of summer.

Very nice plant it seems to be in a subprime location how many hours of light is this plant getting?
You are correct @haulin, the location isn't an optimal position for sustained sunlight all day. For legal and security reasons this grow is being done in stealth and some trade-offs had to be made. These plants receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day right now and were receiving more than that during the veg months.
I believe that the treeline providing shaded periods throughout the day actually saved my entire crop this year. It was brutal for heat and a complete lack of rain. If it weren't for some of the shade I'm sure my crop wouldn't be alive today.
I had also read that using a treeline to provide shade can help plants start flowering a little earlier in a northern climate.
Nice lookin ladies there...gorilla grow in the woods :D Also planning one this year...just lookin for a spot that's excluded like yours
I'm always amazed at the different shapes and profiles cannabis plants can take. The drought-like conditions that we've had this summer season have hit all crops hard. Your plants look really healthy and I hope you achieve the harvest yield you are planning for. Nice post.
Thanks for the good wishes. My fingers are crossed. I think I've made it through the worst of it now. The heat and humidity are dying down as summer ends. The rain has finally returned with some frequency. My biggest worries now will keeping them well fed and hope for a late frost.
For another journal I'm going to show my Holland's Hope plants.
Do you live in a legal state or do you have to fly under the radar?
I'm a medical marijuana patient in Canada. Our laws and regulations are really in flux right now. They just released yet another set of regulations governing homegrows for medical marijuana and we have nation wide recreational legalization coming in spring 2017.
There are a lot of liberty issues in the details of these regulations but it's a step in the right direction. As you can see from my photos some of us can't wait for the politicians to figure things out.
