Mary Jane - Germany's biggest cannabis expo

last week me and my gf travelled to Berlin to explore the secrets of Germany's capital city. We had a extraordinary weekend! The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed a lot of interesting experiences. On Friday we went to the biggest cannabis and hemp expo in our country, the "Mary Jane".

The new location

In 2016 the expo made his first appearance in the centre of Berlin. Back then it was okay but small and not very relaxed. This year the organisers chose a new location outside the centre of the city (Funkhaus Berlin). That was a really good decision! The place was much bigger there was a nice outside area with direct view to the Spree (big river of Berlin). There was a small beach area with hammocks, music, food, drinks and some exhibitors. Due to the new location outside the city there were only people who were interested in the exhibition and we didn't notice any police. Here are some pictures from the outside area:

Everyone, the guests as well as the exhibitiors, were very friendly and relaxed! Overall a nice atmosphere to exchange views and insights, enjoy a drink on the beach or listening to one of the many speakers.

The inner area

Every in Germany known company, that sells supplies for growing, smoking and vaping, had aa exhibition stand in the fair hall. The employees were friendly and helpful. Some even offered a pull from their joint - only for marijuana patients of course ;-)
Of course political parties which support the legalisation and pro cannabis associations were present as well.
I do not need to mention that we got a lot of of flyers and merchandise products. Now we have a bunch of rolling papers and around 10 new lighters although we don't smoke. Fortunately you can use the lighters to open a bottle or light a candle.

Then we listened to a speech of Andreas Müller, "Germany's Toughest Youth Judge", who told some interesting stories about cannabis in the legal system.

He is a very entertaining guy which head gets pretty red when he is angry... what happens a lot when you fight for the legalisation of marijuana!

Later we decided to go back to the city. There is a beach bar near our AirBnB quarters which called "Yaam". We decided to check it out.

At night at a bar

Yaam stands for "Young African Art Market" and is a nice bar/beach club/market/etc in Berlin Friedrichshain (near Ostbahnhof). It was the perfect location for this day! The customers there are very open minded and international. We enjoyed some extraordinary African beers in nice atmosphere:

By the end of the night they even had fireworks! A big surprise for everyone. Overall it was a beautiful day!
