Why is Marijuana still a Class one drug?

Despite all the research and studies done showing how Cannabis can help some disabilities the DEA still keeps it on a schedule one drug, on that same level of classification it also includes heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote. On the Level 2 classification you can find drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine, methadone, hydromorphone (Dilaudid), meperidine (Demerol), oxycodone (OxyContin), fentanyl, Dexedrine, Adderall, and Ritalin.

Science has shown how Medical Marijuana can help with Multiple sclerosis, Dravet Syndrome, and Autism. But despite this the Federal Government won't change their point of view in the matter witch is absurd.

What inspired me to write this article was when I saw a video on Facebook of a man who had Parkinson's Disease and just two minutes after taking Medical Marijuana he was able to gain control over his motor skills.

Some Families move across the United States to Medical Marijuana friendly states to find treatment, leaving everything behind because a plant still plays a big roll in politics and also because pharmaceuticals make more off a pill then they ever could a plant. Hopefully in the next 5 years we see a shift in the way society looks at the Health benefits and not the old label that it is a bad harmful gateway drug.
