Three years ago, epileptic Alexis Bortell, was lobbying for her state to legalize medical marijuana in Rowlett, Texas. Since her family moved to Colorado, she has been seizure free for 866 days after treatment with cannabis oil. The current schedule 1 classification of marijuana, prevents Bortell from traveling with her medication to states where it is illegal. This is why she is 1 of 5 plaintiffs that filed a lawsuit on July 24 over marijuana's classification.
