Nuke Proof Coffee recipe

in #marijuana7 years ago (edited)

Ingredients:

1 tsp Nuked butter or Nuked coconut oil (details below)
1 cup of hot coffee
Cream and/or sugar (if you take either)

Prepare your coffee how you like it. The stronger the coffee, the better the taste. Especially so if you use butter rather than coconut oil. The herb taste seems to cling more to butter.

Place the tsp of butter/oil in the hand blender cup, pour the hot prepared coffee on it and blend for 20 seconds. The butter will emulsify into the coffee and, even if you ditch the cream, the coffee will look like it has cream in it. This isn't as apparent if you use Coconut oil rather than butter.

Pour into your favourite mug (trace a heart in the foam top if you like) and kick back for a few hours of light-hearted, full body relaxation.

This coffee takes Bullet Proof Coffee up a few notches. You can make it with your favourite tea as well if you don't like coffee. It still works. Dragon Chai tea is especially tasty with this.

Now, how to make the butter/oil:

  1. Heat oven to 252 degrees Farenheit.
  2. Coarsely chop some herb (1 ounce herb to 1 cup butter is my preferred ratio). Lay out on aluminum foil in a thin layer. (To give you an idea, 1 ounce usually spreads out to almost fill a normal sized cookie sheet.) Cover with another sheet of foil and seal all the edges.
  3. Place in oven for 27 minutes.

This combination of temperature and time has been shown to be most effective for decarboxylation, according to my research.

While the herb is releasing its magic in the oven, prepare a double boiler on the stove. Get the water boiling, melt the butter/oil, then keep it at a low-medium simmer throughout. You may need to boil water in a kettle later to top up the water in the double boiler so it doesn't go dry.

Allow the herb to cool for a few minutes and then just dump it into the oil. You'll want to leave it in the oil for a minimum of 3 hours, giving it a stir now and again.

After 3 hours, remove from heat and allow to cool for about 30 minutes or until it's warm enough to handle with your hands.

Strain the butter/oil through some cheesecloth into a square 8x8 non-stick pan and refrigerate until it hardens. Then you can take it out, let it soften a bit and score it into 48 squares and put it back in the refrigerator.

Some important points about using this coffee for healing purposes:

  1. If you have had trauma relating to guilt or disgust or rage, you may find those emotions will randomly assert themselves. The coffee goes straight past the stomach where shame lies (use cookies to heal that) and starts to work on the deeper negative emotions that cling to the bowels. If you are using this for emotional healing of any kind, like I have, you can expect to stir up some of these things in order for you to allow them to dissipate from your field. This will only happen with a concerted healing effort, as in drinking one of these a day. If using this more for pleasure, it's still something to keep in mind.

  2. I started with butter and making cookies. I found many a shame stick scar in the first few weeks of eating a cookie per day. It took a few months to work through all that. It was worth it though because I no longer get heartburn! So, yeah, if you suffer from heartburn, I'll bet you 100 Steemit someone used shame to control you when you were young. If it's chronic and you need medication, you've moved to the stage of subconsciously shaming yourself too, it isn't just about them anymore. It takes real emotional courage to face these things and the herb helps support you through that.

  3. I got tired of making cookies and saw a YT for the latest coffee fad called Bullet Proof coffee. I put two and two together and decided to stop with the cookies and get more serious. I was curious what other emotional traumas may lay hidden in my body. I wasn't disappointed.

  4. The butter does have a stronger herb flavour to it but it blends much nicer into the coffee for a creamier taste. After a few months of using butter, I switched to Coconut oil and I prefer it leaps and bounds. You can barely taste the herb, it's a much "cleaner" oil. Unless you're vegan or allergic or want to use this for baking, I'd recommend the coconut oil. The effect is still the same.

  5. Yes. I am absolutely talking about pot. :)

Full disclosure: My husband came up with the name. :)
