5 No Stress Celebrities That Love to Smoke Weed
You can call it weed, pot, kush, dank, marijuana etc.. most of us who indulge know what you’re talking about. If you haven’t been living under a rock you know it’s now completely legal in some states (notably CO and WA). Celebrities have often been at the forefront of marijuana culture and we'll take a dive into the not so secret lives of a few very open celebrity stoners. Let’s get started with our list of Celebrities Who Smoke Weed:
Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey starred in what can be easily argued one of the top stoner movies of all time in 1993’s Dazed and Confused as Wooderson the lovable yet incredibly creepy womanizing underachiever. This film is where Matthew coined is now famous toker catch phrase “alright, alright, alright…”. He also starred in the role of Steve Addington in 2008’s toker flick titled Surfer, Dude.
This academy award winning actor’s experiences with marijuana haven’t all been pleasant though. In 1999 McConaughey found himself in trouble with the law over possession of the plant. Police searched the actor’s house after being called out on noise complaints around 3am, according to the police report the officers arrived to a scene of Matthew dancing naked while playing a bongo drum as a friend sat nearby applauding him. The officer noted that there was a strong smell of marijuana in the air which gave him reason to search the home. The officer found a cereal bowl full of marijuana along with a bong and pipe.
McConaughey’s love of marijuana is so well known around Hollywood that Late Night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel once joked while hosting the Emmy’s about Matthew;
“He doesn’t even own a television, I know for a fact that he traded his for a conch shell full of weed.”

Miley Cyrus
News reports began to surface all the way back in 2011 that the teenage star of the Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana series was regularily being seen smoking marijuana from a bong. Media reports at the time had sensationalist headlines labeling the weed smoking as a massive cry for help from her parents. Several years later we can see that Miley Cyrus appears to be doing just fine and really likes to smoke pot.
The transition from family friendly Disney star of Hannah Montana into the young woman and edgy pop-star Miley Cyrus seems to have really taken place during the whirlwind year of 2013. It was pivotal year for Miley’s career where she did everything she could to prove to the world that she was not a kid anymore. Miley became quite open and vocal about her Marijuana use and even began to allow herself to be caught on tape smoking blunts. The public displays of pot smoking culminated in Miley smoking a massive spliff on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards being held in Amsterdam that year.
Since then Miley has been loud and proud with her weed smoking and has embraced the rebel stoner chick persona that the media has cast on her. Giant foam Marijuana costumes were incorporated in to the live performances of her hit album Bangerz. The debut song on her latest album titled Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz begins with the lyrics “Yeah I smoke pot, yeah I love peace. But I don’t give a fuck, I ain’t no hippy”.
Joe Rogan
This legendary podcaster, stand up comedian, sitcom actor, host of the game show Fear Factor and host of UFC is a powerful weed smoker. Joe started out his life in Boston as kickboxing and taekwondo champion. Early in life Joe was extremely adverse to using marijuana and labeled those he knew that smoked it as weak and pathetic.
While spending time with legendary SNL comedian and stoner Phil Hartman on the set NBC’s NewsRadio Joe began to get his first insights into he fact that marijuana use does not make someone a loser. It would take a few more years for Joe to fully come around on smoking pot. It’s when Joe began to workout with and befriend a Los Angeles Brazilian Ju Jitsu guru named Ed Bravo that Joe learned about all the positive aspects of marijuana smoking including the medicinal value.
These days Joe Rogan can be heard preaching the benefits of marijuana use to he masses on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. Joe regularly consumes various forms of marijuana with his guests prior to and during recording of the show. Joe has also claimed that the majority of UFC fighters smoke weed. Jennifer Lawrence
While Jennifer Lawrence isn’t a completely, open, loud and proud stoner; she certainly isn’t doing a great job hiding the fact that she likes to toke the reefer. In 2013 shorty after winning the Academy Award for Best Actress she was caught smoking weed openly outside her home and then again a few days later openly enjoying a fat joint on her balcony in Hawaii during filming of the Hunger Games series’s second entry Catching Fire with her co-star Josh Hutcherson.
It seems like Jennifer’s people have given her a talking to because there hasn’t been much more on this celebrity stoner’s smoking habits since then.
Justin Timberlake
Justin Timberlake first publicly acknowledge that he smokes weed in a candid interview with Playboy magazine. He answered the initial question “Do you smoke marijuana?” with an excited and enthustastic “absolutely!”. Justin continued by saying “The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking, Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high.”
Justin has also been quoted about enjoying various psychadelic substances at music festivals “This is my first time here at SXSW. I’ve been to Coachella many times, on many different, um, substances. I’ve been to Coachella many times but not remembered a lot of it, I’ll leave it at that. But I remember I used to go to Coachella a long time ago. I remember Coachella when there wasn’t, like, paparazzi and stuff there. Like, I stood in an open field and one year I saw Nine Inch Nails and the next year I saw Weezer, and I was standing in the middle of the field, you know, like tripping my mind out.”
The singer-songwriter and actor also had some choice words captured in a stoned state “wonderful, weird city of Austin for having me” was quoted saying while telling stories about hitting Amy’s Ice Cream t feast on chocolate chip dip. “Sorry, I’m on drugs, I’m just being serious.” Some pretended to be the employee that served him to which he responded “It wasn’t you. I’m not that high.”
Justin recently did a concert at the Pepsi Center in Denver Colorado. At one point Justin was yelled out “Damn, It smells legal in here tonight, I can smell y’all coming from a mile away, it smells legal in here tonight.”
