Marawi City, is the capital and the largest city of the province of Lanao del Sur on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines.

There is an ongoing armed conflict in Marawi, Lanao del Sur, that started on May 23, 2017 between Philippine government security forces and affiliated militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, including the Maute and Abu Sayyaf Salafi jihadist groups.

As of today Marawi crisis death toll reaches 387. Including 27 Civilians, 290 Jihadist fighters and 70 government troops were slain in the continuing clashes.

Early this morning I watched the news and still the conflict continue to take some poor souls. I hope this war will end very soon.
