Marawi City, is a largest city and a capital of Lanao del Sur in Mindanao island, Philippines. Once a beautiful, progressive, peaceful and culture rich community. Home to peace loving Islam and Christian people who protect each others back, help each other in time of needs, and love one another despite of their religion. People are living satisfied for what they have. Innocent children are playing freely on the street with smiles on their faces.
Stunning view of beautiful pristine Lanao lake first greet arriving tourist. Old mosque, traditional Badjao house, Churches, hospital, schools, and retail store stood erect on the heart of the city. Sign that promises prosperity.
But swift shift take effect that dismember Mindanao island when Maute extremist pledge its allegiance to ISIS and attacked Marawi city. Displace, and frighten people rushing to nowhere to avoid the siege and save their lives. The reign of terror spreads like a wild fire on that day, May 23rd 2017.
Dead bodies of innocent people are left to decompose on the street and stray animals that is lurking the area are feed on them.
Roaring tanks, fighter planes, hovering drones, attack helicopter and pulverized structure are the scene in a once great city. The once fresh cool air is now filled with fumes of the decomposing bodies. The once serene surrounding now pounding with bomb explosions, and roaring gun shoots.
Displace people, innocent child, and newborn babies needs our help. Unused clothes, food, drinking water, old toys, and infant milk for newborn who lost mother during on the seige will be a big help. All the bank accounts and wallet addresses listed on these article is belong to the organizations and people who devoted themselves helping people that affected with ISIS attack on Marawi.
