Mantra Monday #3 - Ram
Mantra Monday #3
'Ram'
राम
Ram
Ram - or Rama - is a Hindu avatar of Vishnu - his seventh incarnation. He appears in the Hindu epic Ramayana - the story of Ram - and is one of the most beloved avatars in Hinduism.
The word Ram means to 'stop, stand still, rest, rejoice, be pleased.' It alone can be and is a mantra onto itself. It is a symbol of daily worship, and by chanting this mantra we reconnect with the essence of who we truly are - the atman.
A simple practice
Repeat 'Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram...' 108 times.
