Mango Procurement and Packing from The Farmers Market
I live in the mango hub of my country. We have the weather that is too hot and the soil that is too fertile, perfect for the mango growth...So as the mango season arrives, I get busy making arrangements for delivering mangoes to distant friends and relatives, as a token of love.
Today, I was on a similar kind of mission, being the delivery guy.
I had to arrange 5 boxes of White Chonsa Mango for some friends living in lahore. So I went to the farmers market and after bargaining I settled for 2600 rupees(24$) per maund(40 kg) of White Chonsa.
As I am too tired right now, so I am going to let the pictures do rest of the talking.
That's how they(mangoes) lay in the farmer market.
And the packing starts.
The packing continues.
Packing almost done.
The final step.
In the end, they write the opening date(3-4 days since) on each box.
Finally, after one and half hour I had all 5 boxes(45 kg of mangoes) laying safely in the back of my car.
Fun Fact:
Do you know, as the mangos ripen their weight decreases by almost 10%. I packed 9 kg mangoes per kg, so in the end there will be almost 8 kg of ripe mangoes per box left.
I love mango
