Alain Robert – The Amazing French Spiderman

For this 57-year-old French guy, no dream is too high. Or make that; no building is too high. For years, he has been scaling the world’s tallest structures, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Empire State Building in New York.

To date, he has climbed over 100 buildings free-solo all over the world. Yes, with no ropes or any contraptions whatsoever. But would you believe that as a kid, Alain was actually afraid of heights? You heard that right. But he chose to face his fears head on.

Before climbing buildings, he did dangerous mountain and rock climbing for 20 years and at one point, even fell from a 50-foot cliff! He spent five days in a coma after that tragic accident, but it didn’t stop him from going back to his passion for free soloing.

His next target? The enormous Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Easy peasy!
