Practicing Agile daily
My work life is strongly connected to #projects management. My colleague and counterparty wrote an article about our learning #experience by practicing #Agile. I would like to share our good experience working together.
She put our learning in 5 rules:
Lesson 1 - Agile is a mindset
Lesson 2 - You still need Project Manager and a Plan
Lesson 3 - Align organisation structure to new Ways of working
Lesson 4 - Beware of Old Habits. Hire Agile coach
Lesson 5 - Ensure organisation is ready for cultural change
We still are in a progress, but she as Project Manager already measured such benefits:
- We achieved a greater buy-in from business and understanding of effort it takes IT to deliver one or other functionality.
- Due to incremental delivery, business learned faster, which allowed them to specify further requirements better and more precise
- Business requirement gaps were spotted much earlier, which minimized rework effort.
- itemEliminated wasted work, as teams were always working on a right business priorities and items that would deliver most value
- It helped to increase delivery quality and double teams velocity within 6month
- Teams had instant visibility of work in progress and bottleneck
