There is no such thing as time management

Contradictory to what many people believe, we can't manage time. Because if we say we can control it, we can expand it, reduce it or loan it to others. Time can't be control unless someone can build a time machine to manipulate it.

One of the precious commodity in life that you can spend but can never get back is..... Time. If you stop a person on the street and ask "what time is it? " glancing at his watch, he would tell you " its 1030am". But if you were to ask "What is time? " You may face a blank face or he has his theory on it.

Time is a commodity that is so easily ignored and not repected by some people which I am guilty of at times. But before we can grasp hold of something, we must at least attempt to define it. Only then we can begin to appreciate it more.

The definition from the dictionary says: “Time is a continuum in which events succeed one another from past through present to future.”

The basic element in time is events. Everything we do or not do, is an event. Its a series of event of one thing after another in sequence. Our life is a series of event. Which meant controlling your life means controlling your time, and controlling your time means controlling the events in your life.

Our choice of events schedule directly or indirectly in our daily life will determine the quality of your life. The emotional attachment to each event, will influence the meaning.

If you are spending 8 hours of your life working in a job that you hate. Then you will feel miserable and feel you are wasting your life away. Since it is an event that you need to do provide income for yourself and your family. Why not attach a more positive emotion to it. For example, you can telll yourself, "I am here to learn as much as I can about how to excel in this job, I am here to inspire others to be better in managing their routine task. This is a learning ground for me to something bigger".

Take control of the event by giving a strong positive emotion to it. By consciously deciding the emotion you want to attach to an event, you are taking control of your life. Time still tick away whether you like it or not. So, might as well spend it well.

Before you know it, your body will grow old and weary, your time still ticks away and hopefully when you looked back, you can confidently say to yourself " I have an excellent and fulfilling life".

I hope you will take off from your vocabulary the phrase "I am killing time". it seems that people use to refer as doing something or nothing to pass time. The major difference between successful people and those struggling to succeed is their utilisation of time. Everyone have the same amount of time but the successful individual know how to leverage time to gain more.

Treat your time and others time too ,with utmost respect. When you respect other people's time, they will take notice of you and you will be one of their favourite people to be with.
