Human Nature - Social or Divine?

in #man7 years ago (edited)

What is man? What is human nature? Does existence make sense? Is there a feature that is specific to humans only? Is there a "nature", an essence by which man differs from animals or plants? The self-reflexive attitude of man leads him to the question of the difference between himself and the other entities, objects, nature, and neighbors: what is the difference between a man and a thing or an animal? Furthermore, is there any difference between myself and others? Such interrogations are defined as being about human nature.

Aristotle argued that human nature is social because in each of us there is the instinct for community formation and man only in the community feels the best. The human soul was modeled within society. Today we find more and more communities, whether they are made up of our friends, acquaintances or our relatives or virtual communities like Steemit, facebook, etc. These communities, like in the past, shape us, change us for good or not because the world is in constant change and evolution. A greater evolution than we can believe.

But Jean-Jaques Rousseau wondered if this modeling caused man's happiness or unhappiness. The solution offered by Rousseau was the return to the wild. As in the past, man has only the free will, the decision-making power lies in his hands. Even nowadays a man can always return to the wilderness. Even if science and technology have evolved. There are many, for example, living in a tiny house, somewhere in the mountains, feeding on fruit and plants in the forest, picking them up, meditating and standing out of the stress of the city and other people.

The Christian conception of human nature is that man is a divine creation that differs from all others by being made in the image and likeness of God.

The evolutionary biological theories of the late nineteenth century have determined, on a philosophical level, a new vision of human nature: man, towards the animal, is only a superior stage. most philosophical theories attempt to elucidate the concept of a human condition. This concept arose when the man managed to see himself and realized that most of the things were about his actions and deeds.

So man remains a wonder of the Universe an enigma, that can never possibly be revealed. If we look at the birth of a child, we will realize that we are truly miracles and God is great!
