A man accused of trying to stab his neighbour used his stash of porn mags as body armour to protect himself, it is claimed.

Police arrested the Donald Gene Gaither still wearing the magazines taped to his body, with one of them appearing to be a copy of Playboy.

Stunned officers said the 49-year-old told them he did it as part of his so-called “survival mode”.

Locals said tension between Gaither and neighbour Troy Bagley had been brewing for weeks.

According to American news site KXII News 12, Gaither told authorities he believed Bagley had him kicked out of a mobile home park in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, USA.

He then reportedly challenged Mr Bagley to a knife fight.

The suspect is said to have arrived at Mr Bagley’s home with a knife in each hand and started yelling for him to “come out and get some”, the Ada News reports.

But instead of facing him, Mr Bagley called the police who showed up and took Gaither into custody.

The local paper said Gaither had a knife in each hand, two knives in his belt, a large weight attached to a lanyard and adult magazines taped to his midsection as a makeshift armour.
