It’s been a while since I last had my food review and photo shoot session. I guess the last one was almost a month ago. School was getting busier and busier as I reach the end of law school. Nevertheless, I don’t think it would be a good idea not to grab an invite from one of the best steak houses in town!

Mamou has been in the business for 10 years and they continue to grow now having three branches. One here in Serendra, another in Rockwell, and their latest branch: Ayala Mall the 30th.

Mamou offers a wide array of menu compose of meat, veggies, pastas, and seafood which are shipped alive from different parts of the world to the Philippines. Not only that, the dishes they serve are of different influences. Some are Western while the others are on the Asian and Middle Eastern side.

During our visit to Mamou, we were able to try about 8 dishes.

-Fish Fingers with Grilled Vegetable Dip-
Classic boneless fish with a very moist flesh and crunchy beer batter. It comes with a very Indian-y dip that was so surprising! Very strong and contrasting flavors in one dish!

-Hearty Lentil Soup-
It’s like the munggo usually serves during Fridays. This will sure give you a nostalgic kick! It’s not too grainy and less starchy than the usual munggo. I just wish they have a bigger serving of this dish. 😂

-Alugbati, Kamote, Talbos Salad-
I didn’t thought alugbati can be eaten fresh! This salad is a bomb! It has sweet kamote, salted egg, blue cheese, onions, orange kamote, saba, French vinaigrette, and duck adobo flakes on top! Need I say more? Busolve!

-Pasta Cipolla-
Don’t be deceived by this pasta. It looks boring, really. Doesn’t seem to have anything on it except cream and the visible onion. But try to taste and see for yourself how flavorful it is! It has a very very very strong flavor of anchovies pala! Sarap!

-Lorenzo’s Truffle Cream-
Another usual looking pasta that’s also surprising! I thought it was just another plate of Pasta Cipolla but I was wrong! It’s truffle pasta! They were generous with their truffle! Tastes like it comes with a pound of truffle in it.

-Grilled Salmon Steak-
I must say this was the most beautiful dish during our shoot. It comes with a big chunk of grilled salmon placed on top of fresh and colorful couscous salad.

-Venison Curry-
A very Indian-tasting cuisine! A bit hot and very meaty. It comes with a cup of rice and an atchara looking side dish.

-Angus Ribeye USDA Prime Grade Steak-
Obviously, this was the star of the shoot! It was supeeeeer delicious and super tender! We had it medium rare. A solo serving weighs 400 grams. I dunno why they consider this solo. LOL. A serving is good for 2 hungry foodies already.

Overall, our experience with Mamou was really really good. They have friendly staff, nice interior, and fast service. This should definitely make it to the top of your best restaurant’s list!
