RE: A day in the life of a Crohn's Chick part 6 - Live chat pandemonium!

in #mallsballers6 years ago

Your Crohns vs Ulcerative Collitis video seriously triggered me. I had to walk out of the room while @ursa was watching it. Made me feel like a session of Dr Google was diagnosing every symptom I ever had when I ended up in hospital eleven years ago.

At the same time, this is confronting mortality-affirming communication about health. We're all gonna suffer from something sooner or later, and I'm glad that I haven't had a flare in years.

I really want to say "fuck you" for sharing this video, but it's not everyday that people talk about these important things. As someone who is healthy, instead I'm saying "Thank you", for sharing this information with people who would not ordinarily encounter it in their day to day lives.

Im sorry that this video triggered you, that was not the intention of the video. Coming from someone who suffers still everyday with this disease i know how important it is to share this information so others can get help faster rather than waiting until the worst happens. I was not diagnosing anyone, only providing really important information and support so as much as i am one of the few who understand how confronting this all is, i dont appreciate that one of your initial reactions was to say fuck you. If this has severly impacted you mentally, you should probably seek some help to ensure you have fully recovered mentally from what you experienced years ago, and im glad you were lucky to have now recovered and not be battling this illness anymore.

It was confronting in a good way. I don't normally find my skin crawling with uneasiness when learning / reading / investigating something. It's a massive compliment that your content had the veracity to make me flinch and have life- changing moments come back.

I couldn't walk ten minutes without losing my breath before I had my treatment. I was a fixed person afterwards, but with all chronic things there's the risk it may come back.

Important to stay on top of it all. :)

I very much love, and am grateful for my guts. Steem On!
