Málaga

I noticed that quite some steemians seem to like the andalusian city Málaga as much as I do. I read texts or comments from @dulcinea (here), @jgcastrillo19 and @osac (here). This encouraged me to contribute some impressions and images about this city as well.

Spain is one of my favourite travel destinations and within Spain my preferred city is Málaga. Málaga doesn't have the most beautiful beach, not the biggest number of historical buildings, and everywhere you see road works and renovations. What makes it so fascinating, nevertheless?
In my eyes, Málaga is the most "complete" city. It has so many different things to offer in one single place: Many visitors come because of the sun (Picasso who was born there praised the unique lighting conditions), the long beach, the great fish restaurants and sights like the "catedral de Málaga" and the "Alcazaba" (an old moorish stronghold).
Different than in many other tourist places one also has the possibility to dunk into the spanish everyday life: There are not only people working in the tourist industry but one has also the opportunity to get in touch with many "normal" working people if one is open minded and interested enough. There is a huge traditional vegetable and fruit-market in the centre of the city (Mercado de Atarazanas), and both in the broad pedestrian zone (with lanes made of pure marble) and the big number of clubs and tapas bars life is pulsating until late at nights. People are friendly, women beautiful and above all I should not forget to mention the famous Málaga-ice cream. :-)

Finally, also infrastructure is very good with airport, cheap city busses and well-priced, fast connetions by train or bus with other andalusian cities along the coast. Apart from that every day they offer trips to North Africa by ship.

Ich habe bemerkt, dass nicht wenige Steemians die andalusische Stadt Málaga genauso mögen wie ich selbst. Ich habe Texte oder Kommentare von @dulcinea (hier), @jgcastrillo19 und @osac (hier) gelesen. Das ermutigte mich, ebenfalls meine Eindrücke von dieser Stadt und ein paar Bilder beizusteuern.

Spanien ist eines meiner Lieblingsreiseziele und innerhalb Spaniens ist Málaga meine Lieblingsstadt. Málaga hat nicht den schönsten Strand, nicht die meisten historischen Gebäude, und überall wird gebaut und renoviert. Was ist dennoch so faszinierend an diesem Ort?
Málaga ist die "kompletteste" Stadt, die ich kenne. Sie bietet von allem etwas: Viele Besucher kommen wegen der Sonne (der dort geborene Maler Picasso pries die Einzigartigkeit der dortigen Lichtverhältnisse), des ausgedehnten Sandstrands, der fantastischen Fischrestaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten wie der "catedral de Málaga" und der "Alcazaba" (eine alte maurische Festung). Anders als in vielen reinen Touristenorten kann man hier aber auch noch direkt in den spanischen Alltag eintauchen: Man trifft nicht nur im Tourismusgewerbe beschäftigte Spanier, sondern kommt, sofern man aufgeschlossen und kontaktfreudig genug ist, auch mit der "normalen" arbeitenden Bevölkerung in Kontakt. So gibt es einen großen traditionellen Obst- und Gemüsemarkt im Stadtzentrum (Mercado de Atarazanas), und in der breiten Fußgängerzone (mit Wegen aus reinem Marmor) sowie den zahlreichen Clubs und Tapasbars pulsiert das Leben bis spät in die Nacht. Die Menschen sind freundlich, die Frauen hübsch und natürlich gibt es köstliches Málaga-Eis. :-)

Auch die Infrastruktur, mit Flughafen, billigen Stadtbussen und günstigen, schnellen Bahn- und Busverbindungen entlang der Küste zu den anderen andalusischen Städten, ist sehr gut ausgebaut. Außerdem werden täglich Schiffsreisen nach Nordafrika angeboten.
