Galaxy Eye Makeup Look
The galaxy eye makeup look is something new to me. But, I wanted to give it a try.
It went on pretty well and I’m impressed by the finished look of it and I love it so much, it wasn’t that hard to do, which I will show you soon.
I wanted to get back to my step by step pictorials where I’ll show you exactly how I create the look.
Let’s start:
Step 1: Apply Concealer.
Start off by applying a bit of concealer to the eyelid area to even out any discoloration. This will give you a clean canvas to work on.
You can blend the concealer with a brush or a damp beauty sponge. Just make sure that it’s evenly blended.
After the blending, you can go ahead and dust some translucent powder on top to set the concealer. Use a fluffy eyeshadow or face brush for it.
Step 2: Black Cream Pencil.
To get a dark base, you can use any cream or gel eyeliner pencil. Apply a bit to the eyelid area and start blending it while it hasn’t set yet. Depends on the pencil you’re using, you need to work it in quicker.
Use any dense round or flat eyeshadow brush to blend the cream/gel texture over the lid area. Create a black Smokey eye effect. It doesn’t need to be 100% black, if it’s a sheer finish, that’s fine too.
No lines should be visible.
Step 3: Dark Blue/Grey Shimmer.
To set the black cream/gel texture, you can dig into the first powdery shadow. Going for a dark blue/grey shimmer shadow will work beautiful as the main base for the galaxy background.
Apply it at first with your finger to get the most out of the shimmer shadow and then go in with a blending brush to soften the edges and fade the shimmer towards the crease and above.
Step 4: Clean Up.
If you went too far out or too low with the shadow, you still can fix it and clean it up with a makeup sponge or makeup brush with some leftovers of the foundation.
Simply press the brush or sponge against the skin and place it where you want to clean up and swipe the shadow away. You can also create a prober line at the outer corner area.
Step 5: Mid-night Blue.
Going into the next shimmery shade which is a mid-night blue shadow.
Use your finger and add this shade to the inner corner of your eye. You can also use your finger to blend the shadow a bit more into the dark blue/grey shadow so that you won’t see a line.
Step 6: Purple.
Moving onto some purple which you can apply a little bit more onto the outer corner section but keep some space at the outer corner for another shade.
You can apply this shade as well with your finger and blend it into the grey to avoid any lines.
Well, that’s what I did so that it will look a little ‘messy’ with the colors and it will also shift from blue to grey and purple.
Step 7: Aqua Blue.
Use a shimmery aqua blue shade which you will bring into the crease and connect it at the outer corner with the lash line. Like a graphic liner shape.
Apply this shade with a smaller eyeshadow brush or even lip brush, depends on what you’re having at home.
Remember, you can always go back into previous shades to bring back any pigmentation or to soften any lines to make it look more blended.
Step 8: Lower Lash Line.
For the lower lash line, you just need to repeat the first few steps again.
Apply some of that cream/gel pencil on the lower lash line as well as on the upper and lower waterline. To make it look nice and dark.
Then go back into the dark blue/grey shimmer shadow and at this to the lower lash line as well.
Step 9: White Eyeliner.
Using a white eyeliner to create little dots and stars for the galaxy. Keep your eyes close while the eyeliner is drying.
Step 10: Liquid Eyeshadow.
Because the white eyeliner is matte, and stars normally sparkle. I wanted to use a shimmer liquid eyeshadow.
Pop the liquid eyeshadow on top of the stars to let them sparkle. Don’t forget to let it dry first.
Step 11: Add Mascara.
Add a few coats of your favourite mascara to nearly complete the eye makeup look.
Step 12: White Shimmer.
I dusted some white highlighter over the entire mobile lid area with a big blending brush to give the full eye makeup look the last pop which then will reflect in lightening so beautifully.
Step 13: Lips.
For lips, you could go in with natural shades or gloss. Or you could match it up with the eye makeup. That’s why I chose a beautiful blueish matte liquid lipstick to finish of the makeup look.
Here is the whole makeup look.
I hope that you’ve enjoyed the tutorial and thank you so much for reading through it and I hope I’ll see you soon with another one.
Thank you,
xoxo, Melissa
