Applying Mascara for Long Lashes
In this makeup tutorial, I like to share some tips I have learned from years as a makeup artist. Discover the tricks to applying mascara for long lashes today.
Most women desire long, thick lashes that few are blessed with – but you can achieve those lengthy eyelash looks too. The secret to applying mascara for long lashes lies in the type of mascara wand you are using. Because each type of brush has a different purpose, you may find you want more than one kind of mascara.
In this tutorial, learn which mascara brushes work best for long lashes from an industry professional.
Step 1:
Every great mascara look starts with a full lash curl, so begin by carefully curling your lashes.Step 2:
To get the maximum effect out of your long lashes, use a mascara with a spiky, mostly silicon wand. If you want thicker lashes, use a mascara wand that is spiral shaped, like the Great Lash mascara from Maybelline.Step 3:
If needed, add a second coat of mascara. This can make your look more dramatic, creating thicker lashes as well as adding length. Try to make sure your second coat doesn’t make your lashes clumpy.Step 4:
If your lashes became a little clumped together, use a lash comb to separate them. A lash comb is good to have on hand because everyone’s lashes clump sometimes – it is good to be prepared.xoxo, Melissa
