The ultimate starter makeup kit| Beautyì
Makeup,makeup,makeup. This is something we hear about almost every single day in our lives. What if one day you wake up and decide to start using makeup? Great! So you get your money ready and head to your nearest drugstore,besuty shop or mall.it was all fun and games until you got there and saw tons of makeup products and you didnt know where to start and what to get. Yeah, i know how it feels because i have been there before. To help you avoid the mistakes i made of getting so many things that i didnt need,i wrote this post ,bringing it down to the 8 essential makeup products you will need especially as a beginner(you're welcome).
I advice you to go for drugstore makeup products first. They are cheaper and of high quality as well. Once you feel like you're ready to take one step further, you can then go for high-ends and get other makeup products.
I present to you the essential makeup products that you must have in your new makeup kit.
PRIMER
although alot of people dont use it as they feel like its unecessary, applying it before anything else brigs a huge impact on your finished look. It smoothes that surface of your skin, even your skin tone , minimize the appearance of fine lines and pores, and helps you makeup last longer.
FOUNDATION
This is a skin coloured makeup used to create a uniform colour to the complexion wjile covering flaws(birthmarks,scars,acnes,darkspots etc) befire you decide the kind of foundation you want to buy, take a good look at your face. Do you have anything you want to conceal? If yes,how much coverage do you need? If your face has very little or no flaw, i advice you to go for a sheer or light foundation. If you want to cover those freckles or that discolouration you are facing, a medium coverage foundation will be perfect. Do you have birthmarks,hyperpigmentation or scars that you want to keep as a secret from the outside world,then a full coverage foundation is required.
CONCEALER
a concealer is similar to foundation,just thicker. It is used to hide dark circles,age spots and eye bags. This is something you will need if you stayed up late at night and need to look presentable in the early morning to cover those horrible eye bags unless you want to look like a helpless zombie then you are good to go without it. It is advisable to choose a concealer one or two shades lighter than your skin tone as it hides the blemishes and darkspot under the eyes better.
FACE POWDER
Face powder is applied to the face to set the foundation after application. Another strong reason to purchase a face powder is that it can be reapplied throughout the day to minimize the shininess caused by oily skin. They are 2 kinds of powder. The translucent sheer and the pigmented powder. The pigmented powder can be applied without any base foundation but the translucent sheer powder works best when setting foundation.
EYEBROW PENCILS/GELS
these are used to outline the brows and create a thicker looking brows. Depending on your skintone,if your skin is light,use a lighter brown. If your skin is dark,use a darker brown.
EYELINER
eyeliner is a cosmetic used to define the eyes. Its applied above the upper lashes to make the lashes lush, drawing the attention to the eye.
MASCARA
this is commonly used to enhance the eyelashes. It is applied directly on the eyelashes to either darken,lengthen, and/or define the eyelashes.
LIPSTICK
this is like the icing on the cake.lipstick is a pigmented cosmetic that is applied on the lips th make them beautiful and attractive. They come in so many different colour and in different colours and find the one that fits you best.
