New Wet N Wild Walking On Eggshells Tutorial
Good Morning and welcome back to 523!! Today we are going to take a look at the new Wet N Wild Walking on Eggshells quad. Along with my review I will show you just how I used it to create this simple eye look as well.
Wet N Wild cosmetics brand has been around for many moons....since 1979 to be exact. I remember buying their black and orange nail polish when I was in high school volleyball and wanted to sport my school colors. It was only Wet N Wild who (at the time) made those wild and crazy colors in our area.
The brand has had a cult following of their eyeshadow trios such as Walking on Eggshells, Sweet at Candy and Silent Treatment, along with their eight pan pallets like the Comfort Zone and Petal Pushers and I followed along with them. These were beautiful and very pigmented shadows....and not just for the little money they cost, these are exceptionally high quality shadows.
While I have, over the years, collected and hit pan on all of these pallets above and have loved them dearly, they did lack a certain element....a matte transition color. During all of these years, I would just make this up with using my bronzer or another matte from some other pallet to incorporate which was fine for the most part. Sometimes I'd just forgo the matte transition and go with all shimmer because I was in too big of a hurry to dig out another pallet. But, the Wet N Wild people have since heard our pleas and have released the new "quads" that have everything you could ask for in a little pallet.
Behold, the "NEW and improved Walking on Eggshells".
It has your same three shades as before but one more shadow labeled "transition", which is a medium, neutral matte shadow. This was really and truly what this little pallet was lacking.
The pigment is undeniably Wet N Wild, creamy, smooth and super easy to blend. And the colors are just gorgeous...especially the lid color. I loved that color in the first edition of WOE and I love it just the same in the new.
Now for my look....well, I just followed the directions on the pallet. I decided to put a little brown pencil liner in my lower water line and use the crease color to line my lower lash line, applied black liquid liner to top lash line and finished with mascara.
I love this look for many reasons....it's simplicity for one, I can create this look in minutes and be out the door feeling confident in my look. Another reason I love it is because it is so simple that I can add a bold lipstick color or blush and the eye look will always tie in with the other colors on my face and lips. Never needing to compete with anything else and just enough of a depth to the eyes to make them bright and open. I recommend having at least one look that you keep on the back burner to pull out when you are in a hurry, need something that is effortless, matches with anything and any occasion or if you have no clue what you want to do with your makeup for the day. This is my look.
Pretty simple. For my lips (because I did a simple eye look) I used the Katy Perry Katy Kat Gloss in Ninth Life and Revlon's Cream blush in Coral Reef.
And there you have it. Now that I have used this new WOE pallet and found that it holds true to color and pigmentation as the old, I am confident that I can now toss the original...which might be a good idea, I have had it for way too long. :)
I hope you enjoyed this look into the new Wet N Wild pallet and will come back and visit again. Thanks for all of your support here on Steemit, I enjoy playing with makeup and telling anyone who will listen all about it, LOL.
Until next time, take care!
